Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art Of Living Foundation and International Association of Human Values will go to Manila to give a talk on April 24, 6pm at the Isla Ballroom at the EDSA Shangrila Hotel.

Shri Shri Ravi Shankar (SSRS) and his foundation rose to worldwide fame during their 25th anniversary celebration where a whopping 2.5 million followers from all over the world gathered in an airfield (though not all at one time) and sang songs and did meditation together. It was so huge, it was even covered by CNN. My Indian housemate happens to be SSRS’s neighbor in Bangalore who has known him since SSRS was a banker and he insists that SSRS is the real deal (an enlightened person). On the other hand, some Indians think SSRS is simply a money-making guy because his Sudarshan Kriya courses are expensive.

What do I think? After attending his talk in Suntec last week, I think SSRS is doing a good thing by giving health tips and promoting unity among religions . If you have time, go to his talk and spend time to appreciate bhajans (Indian devotional music usually to Krishna/Govinda and Shiva) and see how you feel afterwards. Just watch your wallet. lol
